Lecture in Shaftesbury, Tuesday 8th March 2016

There will be a lecture entitled ‘Camps and Badges on Sutton Down’ by Dr. Antony Firth of Sutton Mandeville Heritage Trust on the evening of Tuesday 8th March, courtesy of Shaftesbury & District Archaeology Group (S&DAG). The lecture will take place at St. Peter’s Hall, Shaftesbury – which is at the top of Gold Hill behind Shaftesbury Town Hall. Doors open at 7pm and the lecture starts at 7.30pm.

The lecture will recount the history of the First World War badges and camps in Sutton Mandeville, including soldiers who served in the parish. The lecture will present the results of new research and set out our plans for reinstating the badges and investigating the camps.

All are welcome!

There will be a small charge on the door for non-members of S&DAG.
